Virtual Honors Center: Starting April 1, 2020, we will have Virtual Honors Center hours where you can reach an Honors staff member live via Zoom or phone. For the Fall 2020 , Virtual Honors Center hours are Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday (12pm - 4pm), and Wednesday ( 2pm - 6pm). SAC in the Fall of 1995, the program was founded by the Dean of Humanities, Dr. Stephen Runnebohm and faculty member Dr. Mary Brackenhoff. Although the program started with only three classes and 26 students, it has grown to include over 1,000 students and more than 40 Honors courses. The program was established in order to meet the needs of motivated students with a strong academic record. The program offers honors sections of transferable general education and major preparation courses that provide an enriched curriculum, seminar-based instruction, close interaction with honors program faculty, and special projects and activities. Honors courses strengthen students’ college transcripts and increase their chances for transfer to four-year institutions.
